Dickinson’s First School Teacher

As we start the new school year, let’s give a shout out to Minnie Owens, first Dickinson teacher paid by county funds in 1895. Here’s her statue in the museum at Dickinson Historic Railroad Center. Good luck Dickinson Independent School District students, may you be as successful and community-minded as Miss Minnie! The museum is open Friday afternoons.
